SCV Home Sales and Prices Rise

By

Valencia Real Estate Agent Alex Meguerditchian AlexLAEstates Sales of existing single-family homes and condominiums in the Santa Clarita Valley not only posted double-digit increases during January, but prices on single-family homes rose 4 percent from a year ago, reported the Southland Regional Association of Realtors. But don’t get your hopes up just yet, it could be to SCV’s low inventory that’s  driving prices up at the moment, but it’s too early to call it a trend. January home sales were up 47.5 percent, and condo sales rose 106.5 percent from their record lows for this cycle, both of which came in January 2008, SRAR reported.  So one thing to keep in mind if you are a buyer or seller sitting on the fence about your next real estate “move”, don’t look at the national and statewide stats’ and pay more attention to our local SCV reports that will give you a better reality on our local situation. We need to follow and trust our trends here in Santa Clarita, that are far better than the national statistics.

I don’t think that I am making a leap, just foiwollng the self-esteem/achievement connection to a logical end. I respect that you have a different opinion. I dont think that my 42 years have garnered me perfect knowledge of anything. I don’t think that my kids’ current self-esteem is tied to my tellingthem that they are unique an wonderful creations of God. My kids are immature, by design, and I am sure their self-esteem is closely tied to family dynamics and inter-personal comparisons. However, my hope is that, as they mature, my words will continue to ring in the back of their heads, and that they will reach a place of comfort in their own skin at a much younger age than I did. Side note: I would never want to turn back the clock and be myself, younger than, say, 36ish. I full on encourage my kids to strive, and be kind, and give, and participate in society, and learn, etc. My kids are under no delusion that they can survive this world with their heads in the clouds. I challenge them on a regular basis, and they understand what it takes to be a mature adult (well, they understand as much as their age dictates). I understand the restrictions of public educators, and I think this is one of it’s faults not speaking religiously, but that, by design of the classroom setting, teachers cannot focus on each child’s unique strengths and gifts, and must measure all the kids by a standard yardstick. I know there are teachers who find ways around this, and I know there are isolated examples of individual attention, but mass evaluation is the rule. Sure, adults must live up to a uniformcode of production, but kids are not miniature adults, and should be treated with the appropriate accomodations for age and individual maturity. Lastly, just so you don’t think that I am a do-whatever-makes-you-happy type of parent, my eldest is 15, and is require to get a job or internship. He has tried out a couple of things (applied to Magic Mountain, attended a few Teen Advisory meetings) and is now applying for a job (unpaid) at coffee shop. He is already 99% independent with his education (algebra, Spanish, ecosystems, writing poetry, reading classics, journal, Krav Maga, guitar). My goal is that he will be able to function as an adult by the time he is 16. Same goals for my younger children, too. 0 0

I’m sorry, there’s really no such thing as a safe diet pill. They aomslt all contain stimulants that can damage the cardiovascular system, and then there’s Alli, which can give you explosive diarrhea, so I don’t think you want that pill either. Diet and exercise should work perfectly fine. I think you’re probably either not giving it enough time (you should give it at least a month before you decide you’re not seeing results), or you aren’t dieting or exercising right. As for your diet, you should be eating high protein, high fat (saturated not trans, and no that’s not unhealthy), low carb, low sugar. Keep your calorie intake around 1500 a day, carbs around 100-150 g a day, and as little added sugar as you can manage. Make sure to eat lots of fruits and veggies too.And you need to push yourself when you exercise. A nice easy pace won’t do anything. You have to get sweaty, tired, and work hard. If you don’t feel tired when you’re done, if you’re not out of breath, you’re not doing it right. And you need to do both cardio and weight training, but on different days. Try and work out for at least an hour, 4-6 days a week.

that sitting on the floor was great iionvatnon? It can provide a larger and more comfortable space for students to spread out their work or project. Even in *gasp* traditional school students are often allowed to sit on the floor for individual reading time or to work on a project. Sometimes even to rest. I’m current sitting on the floor typing to you I can work (read, explore, create) much more comfortably in this manner and am able to work purposefully for longer periods of time when I am able to work comfortably. Thankfully I’m not required to sit at a desk all day (I don’t even own one, BTW, I do all of my work sitting right here on the livingroom floor) because I know that wouldn’t be a productive way for *me* to work. If you work best sitting at a 2.5 2 desk, good for you. 2. I don’t know what a stoner /skater hat is. The kids are allowed to wear hats in class, though, if they want. It’s a total non issue. If it were a distraction (to the student or others) I’m sure it would be addressed. Seriously. Non-issue. I’ve never even given it a second thought. 3. I don’t understand your point at all. Did you really think it was necessary to interview and include the footage of all 22 (I believe) facilitators and dozen or so support staff/admin? BTW, I spotted quite a few more staff members than the few that were interviewed and you can see in the video that the class sizes are pretty small. Really, I don’t get your point with this one at all. 4. What’s with the personal attack? Someone is just a big old meany, I say. At any rate, Amber is great. She cares about kids, she cares about education, and she cares about our community. Some people talk about reform and change and do nothing. Amber puts her entire being in to the reform and change she believes in. She should serve as an inspiration to others, not the butt of some pseudo reporters bad joke. 0 0

Why have a conversation with smonoee you have a relationship with? God created us out of love and a desire to have a relationship with us and wants to hear from us. Prayer isn’t so we can change Gods plan, it is so we can hear from him and he wants to hear from us, it is our way of connecting with him and the other way around. Abraham obviously thought he could change Gods mind over Sodom and Gomorrah ever read that story, ever wonder what might have happened if Abraham hadn’t stopped at ten people? Prayer does change things maybe not Gods overall plan, but it does change things. That is why we pray.

It’s really very silpme. There are 2 categories of workouts and you only need to focus on one of those for weight loss. They are:1. Resistance training weight lifting, sit-ups, push-ups, etc.2. Cardiovascular Training – brisk walking/running, swimming, biking, jumping jacks, jumping rope, dancing to the oldies, etc.You need only to focus on #2 for weight loss. #1 is good for muscle tone but does little for weight loss.Cardiovascular exercises are silpme and you don’t need any fancy equipment. For successful weight loss, all you need to do is any body movements that get your heart rate higher than normal. That’s what cardiovascular workouts are all about. They simply get your heart rate up and burn off fat.You will need to keep your heart rate up for longer than 20 minutes per session in order to achieve a successful burn. The body takes that much time to warm up and begin the burn. Any huffy-puffy activity will work such as walking, running, going up and down stairs, vigorous dancing, jumping rope, just anything that makes you huff and puff. That’s the key huff and puff for over 20 minutes a session. This is how your body burns off fat.CONSULT YOUR DOCTOR FOR ADVICE ON THE SAFEST WORKOUT FOR YOU.Don’t get discouraged!Contrary to popular TV, there is no such thing as targeting an area of your body for weight loss. The reality is that you will see the fattest part of your body lose weight last! You will notice it first in your face. The thickest fat is the last to go so don’t lose heart if you don’t see your “targeted area” going anywhere at first.Simply create a huffy-puffy workout for yourself that lasts over 20 minutes per session and stick to a daily routine for best results.Another tip is don’t rely on what the scales say everyday. That will discourage you. The better way to monitor your progress is to observe your clothes getting looser. The scales can be misleading because as you lose weight, typically you are also building muscle mass. This dual change may look like you are not losing fat when you actually are.Checking your heart rate. Take your fingers of your left hand and place them about an inch to the right of the center of your right hand wrist as it faces palm up. This should be at your right-hand wrist below your thumb. You should feel a pulse there. Now count the number of beats in a 6 second period. Multiply that number by 10 and that’s your heart rate. A reasonably safe and effective heart rate during an exercise burn is about 120 for most people 30–50 years old.A bland diet will speed the weight loss up for sure. But if you’re like me, starting a daily exercise program plus starting a bland diet is just too emotionally stressful (wink, wink). So, I say, for those of us who want some type of reward for working out everyday, continue enjoying your favorite foods just cut your portions down. Train yourself to learn when you are satisfied as you eat a meal and stop eating at that point rather than eating until you feel full. You’ll be surprised at how early in the meal you are satisfied. So, just stop eating at that point. Make a habit of it.I am a 52 year old male and I am using a programmed treadmill which uses a combination walk/ 5 mph. run workout for 30 minutes a day. I am losing 2-3 pounds a week just doing that and cutting my favorite food portions back the way I mentioned before. My peak heart rate during this routine is 140. (Just telling you this in hopes that it will give you some idea of what 30 minutes a day will do for you so you can adjust your workout to suit your targeted weight loss time frame.)Good luck! I hope this helps.

  4. Is this the master plan and the renosas for the swarm of aliens here? You have heard of the North American Alliance. US,Canada,Mexico as one. Why would the US give away it’s country to illegals as it has? Is the answer this: We cannot compete globally anymore in manufacturing. We cannot feed ourselves with natural resources, we don’t have enough. So, the master secret US plan. Manufacture in Mexico and Africa. Both and Canada are RICH in resources. We would have all we need, we fix Mexico and Africa’s governments, we govern basically and become and GIANT SUPER DUPER INDEPENT WORLD POWER. To hell with the Middle east and WW3. Is this the only way the US can survive anyway? In appearance the US would stay the same, the illegals will go to the Mexico part for good US manufacturing jobs. This is the master plan? Fixes all 4 countries? US falls so does Canada. I see things that others don’t see. I am a historic inventor. I see this coming. I have a special ability to figure Or nuts?
